Coach
Background, training, and the philosophy behind every class.
Kru Ray has nearly 20 years of experience teaching Muay Thai in Vaughan and the Greater Toronto Area. His training background includes extensive time spent studying in Thailand under respected trainers and fighters, bringing authentic technical knowledge directly to his students.
Before opening Crown Muay Thai Academy, Kru Ray ran his own gym, where he coached everyone from first-time beginners seeking fitness and confidence to amateur and professional competitors pursuing success in the ring. That range of experience shaped how classes are run today: each session is built around clear instruction, proper technique, and steady progress.
His philosophy is simple: build strong people through Muay Thai. Technical excellence, discipline, respect, and personal growth form the foundation of every class at Crown Muay Thai Academy.
Teaching philosophy
Kru Ray breaks techniques down into their basic parts, corrects mistakes early, and makes sure students understand why a technique works before moving on to the next one. Classes are paced so students build a solid foundation rather than rushing through material.
Instruction centers on proper form and the small details that make a technique work.
Pad work and sparring are supervised closely, with intensity adjusted to each student's experience level.
Beginners and intermediate students train together, with instruction adapted so everyone progresses at the right pace.
